This is not a long post, but it is an important one. I spent the past month or so by myself and enjoying my own company. I am surprised to report that I am having an amazing time.

I don’t know why I believed that being alone or spending time by myself would be a bad thing. But I come home, I eat good food, I read good books, and I spend all day playing video games with my friends. Life is glorious. I’m working a job I love that suits me well, and my free time is structured exactly the way I want it to be.

I was always using the adaptable, go with the flow, sociable type. I was constantly making plans with friends or clubs or groups or involved in projects with multiple other people. And honestly, in comparison to right now, I was miserable.

Hell really is other people.
